Write On

Be Bold. Be Brave. And Write On.

Write On

Be Bold. Be Brave. And Write On.

Be BOLD. The concept of being bold isn't new to the literary industry. For years authors like Brontë, Stoker, Tolkien, Chopin, Morrison, and Lewis paved the way for King, Rowling, McEwan, Rice, Day, and Jones to write cutting edge literature. Today, no subject is taboo in well written literature.

Be BRAVE.  What is the number one difference between published and unpublished authors? Published authors are brave - they aren't afraid to write what they know, submit their work, and be critiqued.

And WRITE ON.  Remember, it's the one acceptance, not the 11th (or 35th) rejection, that matters! Stay positive and keep doing what you love - writing!

Advances in the digital marketplace have made books readily available to people - worldwide. As part of the team that developed The Writer’s Coffee Shop Publishing House, I witnessed this first hand. During my time with the TWCS, I managed both authors and editors – acquiring several authors who have become literary successes, including the NYT #1 Bestseller - Fifty Shades of Grey.  I believe e-publishing provides authors with the opportunity to build readership as well as their personal brand.

I'm currently acquiring new clients in erotic romance – including paranormal, historical, LGBT, and light-BDSM fiction. These should be sizzling manuscripts with sound character development and unique storylines. In New Adult and YA, I'm looking for the anti-hero readers love to hate and learn to love – coming of age stories where darkness and light intersect and mingle.

Email the following via a query letter:

  • Genre and your name should be in the Subject Line of the email.
  • Two short paragraphs about the story
  • One  paragraph bio
  • The first five pages from your novel or book proposal in the body of your email.

Attachments and snail mail won't be opened. No phone calls to the agency, please.

I will only accept one manuscript per writer at a time. If you have written more than one manuscript, choose the one you think is the most promising and pitch it.

The Agency

L. Perkins Agency - Staying Ahead of The Curve.

Founded in 1987 by Lori Perkins, a former newspaper publisher and editor, the L. Perkins Agency specializes in many different genres. Currently there are five agents representing approximately 200 authors to the publishing industry.

The Agency has agents in many foreign countries and works with an established film agency. The L. Perkins agency works hard to stay ahead of the curve and makes it a priority to help their authors stay ahead of the pack. In 2010 the agency broke new ground by being the first (and currently ONLY) agency to hire a literary agent who works exclusively in the digital marketplace.

The L. Perkins Agency’s four acquiring agents have a wide and diverse range of tastes and preferences and are currently looking for material in a wide spectrum of genres.

OUR TAKE ON E- PUBLISHING (Since 2008)

The L. Perkins Agency has always been a strong advocate for the future of e-publishing and believes all authors should be published in both print and e-pub format.

We have successfully helped many e-book authors break into print and believe that e-publishing will usher in a new era of mass market readership.

We are also committed to helping our genre authors break into both print and e-publishing.

To this end, we have three agents representing manuscripts to print and e-publishers. We were the first literary agency with an exclusive e-pub agent (2009).
